... My Gain!

If I want to benefit to the maximum from the agape-workshop the agape-workshop-trio will be the right thing for me! I search 2 other Christians and together we work through the workshop.

The Advantages of a Trio

  • It is efficient since a trio is small and flexible.
  • It is easier to find dates for meetings.
  • It is easier to organise a meeting place (no costs for rent).
  • Every participant can move on intensively, no one will be ignored.
  • A meeting can happen in different places.
  • Mutual support: A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4,12
  • Short meetings (1-1,5 hours). Each participant gets at least 20 minutes attention and care.

To Get Started: Ask 2 Christians

  • 2 working colleagues
  • 2 Christians from your church / congregation
  • 2 co-students
  • 2 other mothers
  • 2 other fathers
  • 2 Christians from other churches / congregations or in your close environment
  • 2 colleagues from your club / union / association
  • Ask my pastor if he plans to include an 8 part agape-workshop-serie. (worship > sermon > trio meeting > exchange > blessing)

  Where to meet?

A meeting can happen in different places:
  • at someone’s home
  • in a restaurant
  • in a church
  • in a park
  • in a classroom
  • while walking / hiking …
  • a video-conference on www.skype.com or any other venue.
  • ………………………………………………..………………………………….……………….……

    When can we meet?

  • before or after a church meeting
  • before or after work
  • before or after school
  • during lunch break (eating or fasting)
  • during a small group / home cell meeting (do an agape-workshop-serie with the group)
  • while having lunch or dinner together
  • …………..………………………………..…….………………………………………..…………….

  The Meetings:

  • Agape-workshop-trios meet 1-2x per month. Plan the all meetings as far as step 33 before you start the workshop; include some extra dates in case the one or other doesn’t work out.
  • At you first meeting discuss if you want to put some money aside for a finishing party, a weekend away or any thing else you would like to do. …
  • Everyone comes prepared to the meetings; each one has worked though the pre-defined steps.
  • Possible way to conduct a meeting: Pray for the success of the meeting and for all the participants of my trio > share about the experiences of the last meeting > share about the new tasks what I want to accomplish until the next meeting > bless each other.
  • Share about my aha-experiences and my inner resistance practicing agape-love.
  • Share about my aha-experiences and my inner resistance reading a step.
  • Each participant chooses one task per step that he wants to fulfil until the next meeting. Tasks are noted on a task card or saved in the mobile phone. Task cards
  • One participant (possibly the leader) keeps record of the testimonies and aha-experiences and posts them on the agape-workshop.net webpage to encourage others. My agape-trio should also be a blessing.
  • From step 12 (about) participants can take turns leading a meeting (as a training for a possible other agape-trio).

The following resources are available for agape-trio (-leader):

  • Online-coaching/supervision/schooling.
  • Instruction / suggestions about how to conduct meetings.
  • Hints for meetings in written form (i.e. chat).
  • Agape-workshop-practical-workbook: practical tasks to each step (is still under construction).
  • Support: experienced agape-workshop-leaders are available for problems / questions. (This offer should be available from beginning 2016.)
  • FAQ and bulletin board on the webpage.
  • Access to intern area on the webpage (coaching / supervision) from about September 2016.
  • Regional meetings give possibilities to exchange (This offer should be available from beginning 2017).

  Miscellaneous Thoughts:

  • When you reach step 20 pray for 2 new trio-participants and ask them if they want to be part of a new agape-workshop-trio.
  • Organise a party finishing the agape-workshop. Invite the 6 new trio-participants.
  • Plan 8 dates including extra dates. Recommendation: plan to meet every 2 weeks but meet only once a month. The extra dates in between are reserves if a meeting doesn’t work out.

To finance the final party / meal: each trio-participants pays 1.- at each meeting into the trio-cash-box. He can also pay the whole amount at once.
The following can be done with the collected money:

  • Pay for the final party / meal.
  • Reinvest 10% into the association Agape-Workshop.
  • Invest what is not used up into a new agape-workshop-trio.
